Regional Workshop on Leadership in WCO . Single Window and Data Modeling

From 5-9 May 2014, the World Customs Organization (WCO) Regional Conference on Leadership in Single Window and Data Modeling was held in Brisbane, Australia under the auspices of the World Customs Organization. Support from the Customs Cooperation Fund of Japan (CCF/Japan) in conjunction with the Australian Customs and Border Protection (ACBPS).

Attending the workshop were 36 representatives from 24 customs offices in the Asia Pacific region, 3 representatives from the United States and South Africa. Mr. Mr. Satya Prasad Sahu, Senior Technical Officer of WCO, together with experts from the World Bank, the Korean Customs Service, the Royal Oman Police, the Dutch Customs Service. Mr. Takayuki Miyoshi, Operations Manager of CCF/Japan and South Asia Project Manager, and Ms. Pariyabhat Ariyapongkoson representing the Asia Pacific Regional Office for Capacity Building (ROCB A/P) also attended the conference.

The workshop is aimed at senior officials from the customs authorities, combined with the WCO 2014 Information Technology Conference and Exhibition, with theoretical presentations, practical experiences. involving stakeholders to identify and address strategic issues in building a single window. Delegates also learned about key management aspects of OSS functional assessment, business process development, data harmonization using the WCO Data Model.
In addition, the delegates also attended the WCO Information Technology Conference and Exhibition 2014 in which special focus was placed on the discussion at the last session of the workshop on the topic "Building a list of special features". nature of the National Single Window”. Participants enthusiastically and proactively exchanged lectures and practical experiences presented by experts, thereby enhancing understanding of the strategic goals and priorities that need to be set. to build a one-stop solution from a customs and border management perspective.
