On March 17, 2015, at the headquarters of Vietnam Customs, Director General Nguyen Ngoc Tuc had a meeting and worked with the delegation of the General Department of Customs and Indirect Taxation of Cambodia led by Director General Kun Nhem. .

General Director of Vietnam Customs Nguyen Ngoc Tuc politely received Cambodian General Director of Customs and Indirect Tax Kun Nhem.

At the meeting, Director General Nguyen Ngoc Tuc thanked the General Director of Cambodia Customs and Indirect Tax for taking the time to visit and work with Vietnam Customs. Director General Nguyen Ngoc Tuc briefly introduced about the reform and modernization of Vietnam's Customs over the past time, especially the putting into operation of the VNACCS/VCIS automatic customs clearance system and the efforts of the Customs sector. to promote the connection of the National Single Window.

Director General Kun Nhem expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of Vietnam Customs and also said he was very impressed with the development of the General Department of Customs in recent years.

After the meeting, Director General Kun Nhem and the delegation visited the Museum and Online Command Center of Vietnam Customs.

A bilateral cooperation conference took place later under the chairmanship of two General Directors and representatives of consulting units and leaders of Customs Departments in the province sharing the border between the two countries.

The two sides updated the recent developments in customs management, reviewed the bilateral cooperation between the two customs authorities at the General Department and local levels. At the same time, make recommendations on customs cooperation in the future.

In a frank and friendly atmosphere, the two sides agreed to further strengthen the support and cooperation in customs law enforcement on the basis of the Memorandum of Understanding between the General Department of Customs and Cambodia Indirect Tax. and the General Department of Vietnam Customs on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance signed on January 15, 2007 in Hanoi.

The General Director of Vietnam and Cambodia Customs signed the working minutes of the bilateral cooperation conference on March 17, 2015 in Hanoi.

The two sides will also strengthen the exchange of intelligence, further strengthen the fight against smuggling and illegal transportation of narcotics, and trade fraud, and accelerate each side's modernization and reform process. ensure security and facilitate trade.

The two sides agreed to support each other in exchanging experiences on the implementation of customs modernization reform, especially in the implementation of risk management; electronic customs clearance and automation.

Further enhance information exchange, prevent prohibited goods, restrict transit and import/export vehicles, people, other suspected cases and carry out customs verification.

The two sides closely coordinate with each other and together with the ministries and branches of the two countries to promote the implementation of the model of one-stop inspection at the pairs of Moc Bai - Ba Vet border gates.

The hotline will continue to be maintained and promoted effectively to provide information and solve problems during the implementation of customs procedures at the border gate.

Vietnam and Cambodia Customs also agreed to cooperate and support each other in multilateral customs forums such as Asean, GMS, WCO, Asem, WTO...

The General Director of Customs of the two countries agreed that the next bilateral meeting will be held in 2016 in Cambodia.
