On October 22, 2014, the Ministry of Finance solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the financial information and statistics system (October 22, 1989 – October 22, 2014). This is an event marking the establishment, development, growth and contributions of generations of informatics and statistics officers to the development of the Finance industry over the past quarter century.
On October 22, 1989, with the establishment of a Research Team for the project of organizing a financial information system, the research and implementation of IT application in financial management was officially started. This is also a milestone marking the formation of the organizational structure of the Department of Informatics and Financial Statistics today - a unit that is unified by the Ministry of Transport to manage and apply IT in the entire Industry.
After 25 years of construction and growth, up to now, the Ministry of Finance has 6 IT units at the central level, at the provincial level, there are a system of computer rooms/data centers. In the past 25 years, the application of IT in the financial industry is going in the right direction. Up to now, the information system - statistics has achieved remarkable results, making a significant contribution to the modernization of the finance industry.
Specifically, the Finance industry has computerized more than 95% of its operations with more than 100 software applications deployed throughout the industry for professional work, ready for accessing and exploiting information to serve customers. executive direction of leaders at all levels.
Another important highlight is that the Finance sector has completed the construction of a unified communication infrastructure, connecting 100% of central, provincial and district units, ensuring to serve both business and business activities. daily important role of the industry in terms of budget revenue and expenditure, exchange of business data, and operations at modules and units under the Ministry.
Along with that is the equipping of modern IT infrastructure from terminals such as workstations, to server systems, LANs, security systems..
